Eduardo Miller, MD

Board Certified Family Practice

Dr. Miller joined San Juan Healthcare in November 2005 and is available regularly on Mondays and Tuesdays. He completed his Residency in Family Practice at the University of Washington in 2004 and was Chief Resident in Family Medicine for the past year. Originally from Michigan, Dr. Miller completed both his undergraduate studies as well as medical school at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. He is also bilingual and interested in health care for Spanish speaking patients. Eduardo has specific interest in sports and wilderness medicine and was the team physician at Interlake High School for several years. An avid soccer fan, he plays and coaches soccer, and also enjoys mountain biking, climbing and hiking.

Burk Gossom, M.D.

Board Certified Family practice, Certificate Geriatrics

Dr. Gossom has been in practice in Friday Harbor for over 25 years. He received his BA from Occidental College and completed his MD at George Washington University with Family Practice Residency at Emmanuel Hospital in Portland. He also holds a special certificate in Geriatrics and is the Medical Director for Island's Convalescent Center.

Burk traveled all over the states growing up as the son of a Naval dentist but loves the island life. He married Cooky, a third generation islander and they have 3 children. He enjoys fishing, canoeing and is a local Scoutmaster.

Mark Fishaut, M.D.

Board Certified Pediatrician

Dr. Fishaut was raised in Vancouver, British Columbia and is very happy to be back in the Pacific Northwest. He completed his undergraduate degree at Amherst College in Massachusetts, went to medical school at the University of California at San Diego, and trained in pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He has practiced pediatrics in Western New York for the past 25 years. He was a specialist in treating infectious diseases, and over the past 20 years has developed special interests in children with academic problems, adolescent medicine, and sports medicine.

Mark and his wife Sharon have between them 4 adult children and 5 grandchildren. He has a passion for soccer and has coached girls and women's soccer both in New York and nationally and continues to coach here in Friday Harbor.

Leslie Mutchler, ARNP

Nurse Practitioner

Leslie completed her Bachelors and Masters degree in Nursing from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT. She joined San Juan Healthcare in July, 2007. She is available to patients Monday through Friday and has a special interest in family medicine, women's health, cardiovascular disease and health promotion.

Facial Plastic Surgery and Audiology

Cosmetic Surgery and Facial consults with Dr. Emil Hecht, ENT of Bellingham will be available monthly. Dr. Hecht is board certified ear nose and throat specialist also specializes in cosmetic/plastics/laser/botox facial work and skin care. He will be offering his services at least monthly in a new clinic here at San Juan Healthcare Associates.

In addition, Audiologist Stephanie Fleck will be here to do audiology/hearing evaluations and fit for hearing aids.
