Frontier closes retail store

Frontier Building Supply closed its retail operations in Friday Harbor Monday, Feb. 28, 2005. "It was a business decision," said manager Chuck Posey. "It was not ecomomically feasible to operate in Friday Harbor." Orders placed by retail customers prior to the closing are being filled.Frontier will continue its wholesale work with contractors from its location on Spring Street.


Frontier coming to Friday Harbor

Frontier Building Supply of Anacortes is opening a store in Friday Harbor. General Manager Rick Sadler said prices in the Friday Harbor store will be the same as mainland prices. The store will most likely be located in the former Pope building on Spring Street, according to Sadler. Island Living was the most recent occupant of the building which Vern Howard's corporation, Valmark purchased the building from the Pope family last week for $995,000.
