Dozens participate in first annual Alzheimer Walk

Walkers set off at noon Sunday, September 15, 2002 for the Ist Annual Alzheimer Walk in Friday Harbor. Participants walked either a 0.6 or 1.2 mile course beginning and ending at Islands Convalescent Center. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used for two goals.
- Hire a support-group facilitator to lead semi-monthly, educational workshops for dementia patients, families and caregivers.
- Implement a supplemental funding program to make hourly, Adult-Day service affordable to all.
