HOROSCOPEAugust 25 - 31 , 2003 By Triana Èlan Forced FeelingsForgive me...anyone who makes the direct claim of being compassionate usually is not. Full stop. Know why? Because after twenty years of being led down the river by make-believe language and protocols that no human can or should have to live up to, we have been hoodwinked into a notion of being something we really are not. Good? Yes. Well intentioned? Yes. But more lofty things? Close but no cigar. If we have to be goaded into peace or compassion or tolerance then it's false. The built-up stresses of repressing real discernment, real defense of what we've worked hard for, true realization of what we can become has to blow out in other ways. Take a balloon, fill it with air and tie it off. Then try to squash it. The squashing represents the false pretenses of being "nice," doing the "politically correct" thing and the pressure that comes from having to wear a mask that can never be taken off. The blowout of the balloon represents the buildup of frustration over a long period of time, which eventually becomes rage, illness or implosion. Sometimes it's all I can do to hold back from laughing at someone outright who is trying to convince me of their goodness and merit. My answer is, who are you really trying to convince, me or yourself? Words are powerful things, and so are thoughts. But thoughts are not powerful enough to fool the true mind or the body. And thoughts certainly can't touch the Spirit. A useful tactic I use when I need to do a reality check is: If I have to justify to myself what I am about to say or do, then it's likely I'm about to say or do the wrong thing. For instance. Let's say you find a wallet with several hundred dollars cash in it. Let's also assume you could really use the cash. You have a few choices. You could turn the wallet in and say where you found it, or you could say "Thanks, Universe!" take the money and toss the wallet with no remorse. These are two extremes, neither of them "right." But the definitely wrong thing to do is stand there and talk yourself into why you should acknowledge the money as a gift from God and how you've been talking to your Guides and needed money so here it is. So this really is a gift, right? And, like you should take it, right? Like, it's not hurting anyone if you just take it and you're not responsible for someone careless enough to lose all this money, right? You get the point. Reality checks are good and healthy. Forcing ourselves to be unnatural is lethal. This doesn't mean go ahead and smack someone or be rude or wreck property. It means that, inside, before any decision is made, we need to know whether or not we are acting in our own nature when we're under pressure. The easy times make it easy to be lofty. Challenging times show us up pretty quick. Feel real things. Don't censor or judge or correct yourself internally. Just take notice. That's all. Believe me, it's a lot easier in the long run.
