HOROSCOPEOctober 13 - 19 , 2003 We’re Not Done YetBy Triana Èlan Well, it seems that the world stage is getting curiouser and curiouser. At the high end, the powers that be seem to think that we were so very successful in Afghanistan and Iraq that now it’s time to call for a regime change in Cuba. Cuba?! Must be Uranus retrograde in Aquarius. California is also showing its muscle by reelecting a governor then changing its mind and electing a new governor who has been all about muscle. Now this is going to be interesting. In the meantime, here in our islands, we’re getting tucked in for the winter and no doubt wondering what’s going to happen next. One thing I appreciate about living here is that it is a pocket of peace from all that stuff Out There. Never mind that we have the problem of funding the ferries, the highest land prices in the state and that fool Eynman (or whatever his name is) and his followers. Peanuts compared to everything else. A friend of mine reminded me that in a 1999 essay I had said that we were entering a trend that would last until 2004. Since I don’t keep my own essays, I’ll just have to believe me. And 2004 is right around the corner. Surprise, it’s also an election year! Last year on Orcas I ran into a little man (I mean short) from California who bragged, "Where I come from, bigger is better." As I looked down at him from my 5’9” height, I pondered what he meant. After a listening to him go on and on about how bigger is better, he offered me some tiny lemons and limes from his bigger is better fruit trees in California. I was also bequeathed with some rotting oranges. I smiled. I still haven’t figured out how bigger is better, but then I am slow to grock some things. But this man’s new governor is big, that’s for sure. We’re not yet done with this period of high strangeness. I am keen to see how it’s going to be a year from now as we get ready to go to the polls. Hopefully we will actually elect the next president ourselves. None of this is new. It’s all been done before, just not as fast. And the results will always be the same, since history repeats itself, on all levels. A famous saying declares that the definition of an idiot is someone who repeats the same action, expecting different results. This applies to everything from the individual to the world. We’ll have to see what happens. It ain’t over ‘til it’s over.

Pisces (February 20-March 20) Well Pisces, this is still a great time for you. You have a chance to revamp everything. Time to throw out the old stuff and make room for what’s coming. Being needed is important to you, so be sure you have a clear understanding of what’s needed in truth and avoid thinking that you know what’s needed. It’s a good thing you’re adaptable and able to flow; the mainstream needs you, so find your niche. © 2003 by Triana J.
