Prayers

May I use this essay space to extend my heartfelt condolences to our Orcas Island family that were in the plane crash Saturday night. At the time of this writing, a search continues for one of their children who is missing.
May we hold them in our thoughts, our hearts and our prayers and be ready to be there for them when they return home from the hospital.
Aries (March 21 - April 20):
The good new is, Mercury is coming out of retrograde on Wednesday. Even better news is that Venus and Mars now occupy fun-loving Sagittarius, and they are both pushing you out of a slump. Get ready for a very fruitful period of time! You’re feeling the Spring Tides already, even though we’re not even into February yet. Go with it!
Taurus (April 21 - May 20):
Mercury finally straightens its act out on Wednesday, and you’d best be nice to it, because it’s the only planer occupying a fellow Earth sign! Everybody else is in fire and air. This leaves you feeling a bit swept off your feet, but you’re the most grounded Earth sign so you can handle it and move forward with ease. Money? Looks like a joint project is the way to go.
Gemini (May 21 - June 20):
This is a very tenuous time for you because the planetary elements are all fire and air right now. Mercury (your Ruler) is the only planet occupying an Earth sign, but it’s in pragmatic Capricorn, and being pragmatic is not your style! So no wonder you’re feeling frustrated! Don’t spin out on your thoughts. Oh sure, that’s about as useful as telling grass to change its color. Well Gemini dear, do your best and you’ll get there! Oh and I forgot to mention that love is in the air for you!
Cancer (June 21 - July 22):
I hope you’re not expecting that everyone is going to do it for you! The failure of that to materialize will make you very crabby. Have a second look at expectations and your own motives and intentions. If you’re a control-mongering crab you’re likely to be miserable right now. If you’re the bold and territorial crab, you’re likely to be energized and motivated. If you’re the professional victim crab, you’re about to get a promotion! Something for everyone.
Leo (July 23 - August 22):
You’re experiencing the great good fortune of new people coming into your life that “get it.” Good for you, noble Lion! Now ratchet yourself up to the next level and don’t fall back into useless old habits; if you do that, you’ll lose your playmates. You’re experiencing a power surge these days, and that’s great. Your lofty goals and good sense are keen now; take them into your new adventures!
Virgo (August 23 - September 22):
How busy can you possibly get? Hopefully you’re not distracting yourself with tempting tidbits that are keeping you from something you really need to do! It looks like some short journeys or a possible change of residence are on the immediate horizon. This is good! It may not feel like it’s good, in fact you may be feeling forced into something before you’re ready. But face it, if we wait until we’re ready, nothing gets done!
Libra (September 23 - October 22):
Ground yourself and focus on being good to yourself! You have an awful lot on your plate and need to be able to stay on task. Artsy Librans will find fresh inspiration now, especially through dreams. This might be a good time to keep a dream journal; during the day your mind is very busy. You are also experiencing a sense of wanderlust. Do whatever you can to replenish yourself. You’ve been busy!
Scorpio (October 23 - November 22):
You’re moving into a period of opportunity with a window of about three weeks. If you’re looking for a job, exercise all options. If you’re hoping to start a business, get moving. This is a very good time for you, when contacts are a-plenty and treasure is to be found. You’ll need to reach, though, so stretch those arms to embrace the day!
Sagittarius (November 23 - December 20):
During the next three weeks, pay close attention to your own behavior. You are gaining a lot of attention, whether on purpose or not. So keep your front porch swept! This is a time when you are a walking magnet, and everything you say and do will have a long-lasting impact. Be careful and also be careful with your body! Mercury going direct in Capricorn on Wednesday should ease the financial pressure in coming days.
Capricorn (December 21 - January 19):
You’re entering a period of time when your past could come home to roost; hopefully it’s not to haunt you! By Tuesday Mercury will be the only planet in an Earth sign, and it’s in your own sign. Your thinking will be sharp, but tangible action may be difficult. Don’t get bogged down, Cappie. Do what you can to right old wrongs.
Aquarius (January 20 - February 19):
The Sun sails into your sign on Tuesday, joining Neptune and Uranus. You might be in chaos these days if you don’t have a regular routine of living; the planets are once again mostly occupying fire and air elements. Now listen, you may be tempted to go off on a flight of fancy, but it’s advised that you stay grounded. Empathy is needed, not analysis.
Pisces (February 20-March 20)
Oh you poor little Fishy, you’re overwhelmed by confusion! So much going on and so little for you to really dig your scales into! Well, never mind...while others around you are flying around and analyzing everything, you can sit back and ponder and not get run over. Stay in your own pond for now and hold your friends close. Focus on comfort.
