April 14 - 20, 2003 By Triana Èlan It seems that at every turn I listen to people caught in situations over which they have no control. Imposed change is an awful thing to have to deal with, and the changes are hitting so fast it’s difficult to keep up with all of it. Sometimes we don’t know that things have changed until after the fact, and that’s especially bad. One thing I’ve been encouraging people to do for years is to pay attention. I think I’ll release that, because there is too much to be paying attention to! And not everything that demands out attention is worthy of it. These are confusing times, times of disappointment, broken dreams, coming to terms with whatever illusion has been our shell of psychological protection. Many people feel that they have nothing to hold on to. And this is where, maddeningly, strength of character and faith come into the picture. Add gut instincts to the mix and we’re getting close to solving the problem. Throw in a pinch of false security and we’ve defined the problem. Uranus is going to be in Pisces for about eight years. In June Uranus will begin a retrograde and eventually back into Aquarius again, moving forward at the end of the year and coming back into Pisces again solidly. The last time Uranus was in Pisces was from 1919 to 1927. These days saw AT&T introduce the first dial telephone, RCA was established and we saw the first of radio station. Persia managed to throw out the Russians and in general, sweeping regime changes took place across the Middle East. China was also going through some major shake-ups. Uranus is considered a generational planet, meaning that its movements define generations rather than individuals. People born during Uranus’ last sojourn in Pisces were the Baby Boomers’ parents, who saw the Great Depression, World War II and the Korean War. They suffered enormous hardships and made great sacrifices for the Boomers and their respective countries. They defined Reduce, Reuse, Recycle before it was a trend. Pisces is typically a sign of sacrifice. Cycles come and go, then come round again but we forget. We long for the good times, the old days, our past glories. But we must be here, now. We are dealing with things we’ve never had to deal with before, and community is essential for us to see the way through. We’ve been very spoiled and have taken an enormous amount for granted. Let’s now pay attention to the quality of life for ourselves and each other. Many people are hurting now, and for most of them it’s not their fault. Let’s extend hand where we can.
