No, not of the e-mail variety. The other day at work I was thinking about the concept of karma. Since my head almost never shuts off, it may as well think lofty thoughts!
Anyway, in my internal musings, I sorted out that our senses are mechanical and so are our thoughts. Since the mechanical world is one of cause and effect, it would be perfectly logical to assume that the spiritual realm works that way too. But I don’t think it does.
Knowing that running around looking for meaning is a total waste of time and that omens are largely only important to the beholders, I began to follow the trail of cause and effect over lifetimes.
Many folks are quick to talk about karma as a reward/punishment setup. Karma is now a household word, yet I think it’s good to have enough respect for it to not throw it around so easily.
Here’s the idea I came up with: it doesn’t really matter whether or not we fulfill our “karma”. What does matter at the end of the day is how attached we are to the idea of what we think we’re here to do. If the end of life comes and we haven’t done the thing, perhaps the attachment to the idea is enough to yank us back into this realm of existence. This departs from the concept that if you smack me, I get to smack you back in our next earthly sojourn.
There is a phrase, "wherever you go, there you are." Meaning we can go anywhere but we can’t run away from ourselves.
The point to this drivel? Do your best each day. That’s all.

Aries (March 21 - April 20): Your Ruler Mars in Aquarius comes up to oppose Jupiter in Leo this week, giving you pause about a possible relationship or new situation that would appear to get you ahead. This is not a bad idea considering Mercury is retrograde in your financial sector. Take it easy! Don’t push.

Taurus (April 21 - May 20): Mercury moving back ward in your sign makes it easier to have 20/20 hindsight. This is a good thing because you’ll get some clarity about your choices. Making new choices right now is okay but not the best time because a retrograde Mercury is about the past, not the future. Undo the dings and hunt for new information.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20): Okay, so you’ll have to work a little harder. Not a bad thing for a Gemini. Working in the physical world keeps you grounded. Since you can’t project into the future very far, you may as well focus on the moment you’re in, and don’t forget to be grateful for what you do have!

Cancer (June 21 - July 22): It could be that you’ve been a little let down by your friends, perhaps they didn’t show up for something that was important to you. Well, communications aren’t at their best right now due to Mercury’s retrograde. Never mind. You have plenty of other things to turn your attention to. The flowers are blooming, and you love color, so have at the garden!

Leo (July 23 - August 22): This is a rather frantic month for you in some ways, with changes occurring that you either did or didn’t insitigate. Many of these changes have to do with conflict of heart and head, with decisions you made months ago. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and pull in the purse strings a bit (if you have any purse strings left in this economy).

Virgo (August 23 - September 22): With not much Earth to hang onto, it’s possible that you’re feeling somewhat adrift. There is something nagging at you but you can’t quite put your finger on it. Restlessness is common, and it could be coming from many sources at once. Try to keep your mind on one thing while being alert but not distracted.

Libra (September 23 - October 22): Time for some bold resolves with Mercury retrograde in security-minded Taurus and Venus languishing in your opposite sign of Aries. This isn’t a time to push anyone around, if you’re of that ilk. With the current aspects and events mixed the way they are it’s tempting to play the Blame Game. Don’t go there. It’s outmoded and immature. Stay focused on your own actions and thoughts.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 22): The upcoming Full Moon in your sign in the 15th (next week) will rise eclipsed, so take note of your emotional state of affairs this week. If something in your life is teetering on the edge, it’s more probable than not that it will tip and there’s not much you can do about it. This isn’t a time that’s about control, it’s a time of adaptability.

Sagittarius (November 23 - December 20): You’re approaching the summer season with mixed feelings. While April held some surprises and some changes, you’re still in flux and the dust may not settle for a while. Fortunately, your Ruler Jupiter in Leo is very much there for you, like a personal angel. Stay focused on what you want and take a step every day to get it. Don’t get impatient and don’t shoot your mouth off.

Capricorn (December 21 - January 19): If your mind doesn’t settle down soon you’ll drive yourself crazy! Stop it! It’s your mind, so make it work for you and know that you don’t have to voice every little thing that comes to mind. Sometimes it’s better to ask questions rather than give answers. Others around you want equal dialogue, not a one-sided monologue. You’ll feel better with an even exchange.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 19): The New Moon in Taurus last week coupled with a lunar eclipse in Scorpio next week brings some very interesting emotional issues to the surface of your consciousness. Since your emotions are largely dealt with mentally, you might actually have to feel something and not analyze it or put it in a box. Ooooh, that’s uncomfortable! But it’s a great skill. Assume nothing and stay open to the possibilities.

Pisces (February 20-March 20) You’ve been feeling dragged through the dirt with Saturn having toured Gemini for the past two and a bit years. Big lessons, big challenges, whether internal or external. But next month Saturn moves into your fellow water sign Cancer and will look on you with favor and maybe even pop a sweetie into your mouth for a job well done. Now doesn’t that make you feel better already?!
