HOROSCOPE

Mercury Goes Direct

Geez, talk about a loopy stupid time. This mercury retrograde has been compounded with some other goofy planetary aspects, throwing mud in many a face (no small task with all the dry weather).

I’ve not seen such a concentration of accidents, arguments and "oops moments" in a very long time.

Mercury goes direct on Friday and that should bring some relief. In other matters, let me turn to the Better Safe Than Sorry category... Since my college days I’ve kept track of weather patterns. This past winter and summer has closely followed the cycle of 1987 - 88 with a warm winter followed by a drought season. Those of you who were here in the ‘89 and ‘90 winters will remember what they were like.

I am hoping that we can and will prepare for a winter storm. We’re due for one. I’m not talking about the snowfall of ‘96, I’m talking about the Arctic Express type storm of ‘90. One week of weather like that can wreck many years of hard work.

If we begin to see heavy rain and flooding in October, we would be wise to follow the signals and start wrapping pipes, adding insulation and having a backup heat source.

Mind you, I could be wrong, but patterns repeat themselves. For now let’s focus on helping each other be prepared for the winter, whatever comes. And if an Express doesn’t happen, at least we will have taken the steps to protect ourselves and our animals so we don’t have to repeat it next year.

Happy wrapping!

Aries (March 21 - April 20):
Venus moves into your opposite sign of Libra this week, bringing emphasis on relationships and romance. Nice! You’ll be able to problem-solve and communicate with better clarity and enjoy some very sweet moments! Also Mercury comes out of retrograde this week and you’ll have a fresh perspective on an old problem. Is this your week? Yes!

Taurus (April 21 - May 20):
Forward movement is beginning to happen now, and are you ever deserving of it! With Mercury coming out of retrograde and Venus moving into harmonious Libra, you’ll be taking back the reins of your life and be able to breathe. Pockets of fulfillment are available now so take advantage of them but don’t take them for granted.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20):
Well now Gemini, you’re coming out of a period of time that’s been more than frustrating. Take heart, loving Venus glides into Libra this week, brining your thoughts together in a more expansive way. Also, your ruler Mercury comes out of retrograde this week, lifting the dark clouds of worry out of your head. Relax!

Cancer (June 21 - July 22):
This week you have a chance to get organized; Mercury goes direct and Venus moves into Libra, which brings about a power surge for you. You can get things done that you didn’t have the energy to deal with earlier. Now that we’re into the full change of season, get yourself buttoned up for winter and finish the tasks that aren’t rain-friendly.

Leo (July 23 - August 22):
Hey Leo, Mercury goes direct this week in your sector of finances and resources. About time! You hate feeling like you have no stability or security. A lion with no den is a grouchy lion indeed. But that’s about to change for you in many ways. With Venus moving into airy Libra and transiting your sector of short trips and education, maybe it’s time to sign up for a course you’ve been wanting to learn. Learning is the key word for you now.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22):
Mercury finally goes direct in your sign this week, so you won’t feel like everything you say or think is the wrong thing. Hooray! Also, Venus, planet ruling self worth, moves into your sector of finances and resources, giving you new ideas. Make those plans, Virgo! And remember, the journey is worth it.

Libra (September 23 - October 22):
Venus glides into your sign this week, giving you a real boost. Now that you’ve had a chance to think about a few things, you can take action with confidence. Don’t lock your mind up though, and refrain from needing to be right. Focus instead on being happy. You are wonderfully you, so enjoy it!

Scorpio (October 23 - November 22):
News from an old friend or a family member you haven’t seen for a long time is likely to surprise you in the next month Scorpio! You’re in for a time of delights and moments of discovery. This is great. Now that things are slowing down, you have some breathing room, which you really need. Go and get a good book that will draw you in and make you think and feel. This is a great time for escapist literature, and you’ll be inspired.

Sagittarius (November 23 - December 20):
Well now. The big Mutable opposition that’s been bothering you is finally clearing and you’ve likely made some decisions that will yield a different kind of result for you. Good! You’re good at thinking on your feet and acting swiftly, but this time it’s for your own benefit rather than the world’s. Get your thinking cap on and figure out how to get organized, then move forward again. Opportunity knocks softly, so pay attention.

Capricorn (December 21 - January 19):
Okay so to heck with getting organized. You’ve likely spent this retrograde Mercury period making matters worse for yourself and getting overwhelmed! Laugh at yourself fondly, Capricorn, and don’t take yourself so very seriously. You are solid and true, and fault-finding is your own mind working against you. Make a list of all you’ve done during the day and smile.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 19):
With Venus flying into your fellow air sign Libra this week, you’re in a nice mood. Your mind is often made up without really being able to see what’s accurate, but who cares? Life has the meaning we give it, and you’re not one to put up with another’s values if you have your own. Others will likely look to you for advice now, so use your ultimate wisdom and don’t make any snap judgments.

Pisces (February 20-March 20)Well my my Pisces, it looks like something has occurred to help you realize it’s not so bad after all. You’ve spent quite a bit of time feeling like you’ve been swimming against the current, but things should be easing up for you. You’re tenacious about your dreams; that’s a good thing. Now back up and build them one step at a time so you don’t overwhelm yourself!
