Factors Of Chaos
By Triana Èlan
As we appear to be hurtling toward a war or two and our days in the Sun are stalled out financially, many of us are feeling like a deer in the headlights. Uncertainty is an unnerving thing to many animals and since we seem to be the ones creating so much of it, we’d better take stock of ourselves.
Our memories seem to be getting shorter and the generation gap is definitely widening. Those of us who are Boomers (40-somethings) are aghast that we’re beginning to sound like our parents. The Hippies are complaining that the Global Village isn’t quite what they’d imagined, Gen X (30-somethings) still thinks the Boomers are the hippies, and Gen Y (20-somethings) are disgusted with the lot and finding ever more disgusting ways to show it with piercings and tattoos. I can’t help but wonder what all that heavy metal will do when gravity takes effect!
Protests of all sorts are occurring all over the world. Some people feel a need to show up in large numbers, some feel fine sending letters and fighting in private. The folks in charge are attempting to impose some semblance of order with little success due to a suspicious populace.
Chaos has its own patterns, its own durations. Contained within the breakdown of any system is the perfect blueprint of the system itself, which becomes the core of the new order, which will eventually break down as the laws of the universe govern. It happens in minds, families, towns, counties, states, nations, and the Universe itself.
Our physical survival instincts dictate that we don’t step off a hundred and fifty foot cliff on purpose, yet psychologically we seem addicted to cliffs of any height, knowing that the depths are unfathomable.
Let’s start inside, and start often. Hopefully we can get a line on the checks and balances inside of ourselves so that we might be better people, no more no less. We can then proceed with other decisions from a healthier place.

Aries (March 21 - April 20): You are facing pressure from several directions, but ultimately it’s all moving in a direction to your personal advantage. Hey, we all have to do some things we don’t really like in order to get to the gold, but that’s life. One thing that would b a very good thing to do this week is let your friends know you appreciate them. Friends are the gold under your personal rainbow.

Taurus (April 21 - May 20): You’re normally slow to move, and you’re tempted now to rush toward something. Look twice. This doesn’t mean don’t do it, it simply means know what you’re getting into. You hate having to compromise, but being inflexible will make you way more uncomfortable. This is a potent time, full of possibilities and new frontiers. Embrace it!

Gemini (May 21 - June 20): No, you’re not crazy. Well, not any more than anyone else is. This is a tough time for you to be pinned down into one choice. But for now one thing may be your only option, to pull you out of a mess. Look at your past patterns, how you got from there to here, and ask yourself what habit of thinking has landed you here. If you love where you are, bravo! If not, identify the faulty thinking and get rid of it.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22): Read, read and read some more. Form your own conclusions, you don’t need a consensus. This is a yukky retrograde Mercury for you, likely fraught with bone or tooth difficulties and you can throw a cold in with that! Snuggle up and read something lofty and intelligent, something that will challenge your mind. Don’t forget to nurture yourself, Moonchild!

Leo (July 23 - August 22): You’re hard at it, whatever it is! Sometimes it’s easy for you to get into a rather gloomy head space, but you don’t belong there. Often it’s your self assigned job to help others feel better, only to find yourself retreating into your den when you’re feeling blue. Well, guess what? Someone’s waiting to hear from you and would be happy to help you sort it out.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22): It’s very difficult to stay focused now, and outside influences certainly don’t help. You may be feeling overwhelmed, and if that’s so, refrain from taking it out on your loved ones or friends. With the enormous stress abounding all over the place, folks need to cut each other some slack. It’s time you took a nice, long walk! Not away from anything, necessarily, but certainly toward a more fulfilling feeling.

Libra (September 23 - October 22): You’re in the home stretch now, and circumstances are likely to turn in your favor. You don’t have much patience in some ways, but in other ways you are loyal to your cause. If you’re experiencing a severe retrograde Mercury, take heart...it goes direct on the 22nd. You’ll feel the relief almost immediately due to very favorable planetary positions for you. Good job!

Scorpio (October 23 - November 22): Funny how things can happen for the better in this dismal economy...it’s about to do so for you if it hasn’t already. You have a very aggressive nature when it comes to defending your own turf, internally or externally. This is a good time to pamper yourself with a makeover, dress up a little, and feel refreshed. Dress for success!

Sagittarius (November 23 - December 20): You can’t wait for this stupid retrograde to get over with; it’s been a real knicker-twister for you! But your attitude is carrying you through, as always, and you’re likely to reap its good fortune. Even though you may think others have turned away, don’t underestimate your value in their lives. Why do you keep getting all those invitations?!

Capricorn (December 21 - January 19): Some pretty cheery influences are going about this week, so if you’ve had a serious case of the blues, shake them off and get ready to dance. There are things on the horizon that hold an enormous amount of pleasure for you. Though you’re the sign of the hardest work and the least pleasure, we’ll be seeing an award winning smile on your face quite soon!

Aquarius (January 20 - February 19): Lofty thoughts and right action make for a good situation. You seek the High Road with more frequency than most of the other signs, yet something is nagging you about that. A deeper search may reveal that you have unrealistic expectations of yourself. Good grief, who gave you the idea that it’s all about you??? Give yourself a break.

Pisces (February 20-March 20) Here it is, the darkest of the dark of winter (except the days are getting measurably longer) and you’re harboring a cheery little spot inside of yourself. Well aren’t you?! Listen Pisces, overdoing it in the Humble department is vanity in and of itself. If you’ve been real about the quality of your life, then you’ve earned a bit of recognition. Don’t hide it, embrace it!
