I don't think I'm alone in thinking that with gray and rainy days and nights, a movie is the perfect fit. I love to snuggle up on my couch with a fire going and a movie playing. What easier way is there to escape to a sunny beach, get pulled into an intricate caper, or just have a few simple laughs?

Looking at our circulation I can see it's a well known fact that the library offers movies to check out. They are continually one of our highest circulating collections. We are always adding new titles as we get requests and new movies are released. A long standing and somewhat unofficial policy is that our video collection does not directly compete with our local video rental stores. As a result our collection has a lot of classics and British series productions. We also have a lot of popular documentaries, travel, food, and fitness videos. But having said that, we do have a nice rounded collection with something for everyone.

And thanks to a donation from the Friends of the Library we are going to go on an end of the year spending spree for new DVDs. We will be adding to the adult, teen, and children's collections. Be sure to come in and see what is new on our shelves!

To browse new lists as well complete lists of our DVDs go to: http://raven.sjlib.org/screens/collections.html . When you do browse the lists, you may be struck how many are checked out. But that's not a problem. Just pull out your library card and place your hold online. We will then call you as soon as it gets returned.

Remember the library is closed on Wednesday November 11th in honor of Veterans Day. See you on Thursday!
