Guard injured in San Juan Valley crash
posted 05/11/01
Rocky Corliss was driving a 5-yard dump truck northbound on San Juan Valley Road. Guard was driving out of her son's driveway and did not see the truck. Her car drove into the side of the truck. The rear wheels of the truck went over the car's engine department. The truck flipped one and a half times and ended up tipped over and facing the opposite direction. The car was heavily damaged.
Guard was airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital and then transferred to HarborView Medical Center. On Friday, Corliss said he was thrown around quite a bit in the accident. "I'm pretty beat up and immobile but I didn't break any bones," he said. He plans to go to the mainland for an MRI to rule out any head injuries. |
