Melville expected home today

Sven Melville, 22, San Juan Island, is expected to be released from St. Joseph Hospital today (July 25). He is recovering from internal injuries suffered in a July 15 accident.

Sven Melville, 22, San Juan Island, suffered serious internal injuries early
Sunday morning after the light truck he was driving left Miller Road and slammed
into a tree. Melville, who was wearing a seatbelt, was medevaced to St. Joseph
Hospital in Bellingham.
He spent five hours in surgery Sunday and was in stable
condition Tuesday, said San Juan County Sheriff Bill Cumming. Sheriff’s deputies
forwarded a report of the accident to the county Prosecuting Attorney’s Office
for potential charges.
