The assessor's office has launched a Web site linked to the assessor's data. Searches can be done by by tax parcel number. There is also a link to the recorded documents pertaining to the searched parcel. Site addresses are also available in the parcel search, with the exception
of the town of Friday Harbor.

All documents recorded in San Juan County since 1997 are available on the county's Web site. Deeds of trust, marriage licenses, name changes and other documents which were recorded through the auditor's office can be viewed. Searches can be done by name (grantor/grantee), auditor's file number, type of document, date, excise affadavit number or by tax parcel number. Auditor Si Stephens said Recording Supervisor Dan Gillespie put in a lot of time and effort on site design and implementation. Stephens believes the service will save the county money by reducing the number of requests for information.
