Candidates answer first question

San Juan Islander's campaign coverage began with the following question to the candidates:

You are seeking election to a position in which you will be making or enforcing laws and/or regulations upon citizens.

Have you ever (as an adult) been convicted of a crime and/or in the case of the judicial candidates have you ever been found guilty of a breach of professional ethics by a judge or a bar association?

If the answer is yes, please explain the circumstances and how this will affect your ability to serve. The second part is: Have you filed all of the Public Disclosure Forms as required by law?

Orcas West Candidates:

RICHARD FRALICK With regard to your 2 questions:

Have you ever (as an adult) been convicted of a crime? Answer: No.

The second part is: Have you filed all of the Public Disclosure Forms as required by law? Answer: Yes.


MINDY KAYL:

Question 1. I have never been convicted of, and never even charged with a crime. I did get quite a few speeding tickets in high school.

Part 2. I have filed all of the required PDC documents and have chosen the full reporting option. I file weekly reports to the PDC.



ALAN LICHTER:

BRUCE ORCHID:

Question 1. Part 1: NO

Part 2: Yes! I have reported to the PDC. I have not reported any donations as I have not sought any.

Yes, I have filed Public Disclosure Forms.


GORDY PETERSEN:

No. Never. Not so much as a traffic ticket for 39 years. One time I forgot to recycle.

Yes. F-1 and C-1 filed with PDC.


LOVEL PRATT:

I have never been convicted of a crime.

I have filed the Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) forms C-1 and F-1 with both the PDC and our SJC Auditor via the SJC Elections Office. I have selected the PDC’s mini-reporting option; however I am happy to provide details of all my campaign income (donors and amounts of donations) and expenses at any time to members of the press and/or public.
