A second Friday Harbor High School graduate was charged in connection with the trashing of the school's football field on Nov. 25. In San Juan County Superior Court Dec. 4, Travis William Morrissey, 19, was charged with second-degree malicious mischief and reckless driving.
Luke Coulter, 19, who faces similar charges, told deputies he was a passenger in a car Morrissey drove onto the field and then did donuts. He and Morrissey then got into a truck. With Coulter driving, they did more donuts on the field, left the field and drove twice into a fence along the field, Coulter told deputies. Morrissey provided the same information to Sheriff Bill Cumming, according to prosecutors.
School officials estimate the turf and fence damage at more than $4,000.
Judge Vickie Churchill set Morrissey's arraignment for Jan. 8.

Luke Coulter, 19, a former Friday Harbor High School student, was charged Nov. 28 with felony malicious mischief and reckless driving after he and another 19-year-old man drove vehicles on the school's athletic fields and spun donuts. Coulter and the second man, also a former Friday Harbor student, admitted to causing the damage.
In the early morning of Nov. 25, two people saw a red Chevrolet pick-up spinning loops on the football field, according to documents filed in San Juan County Superior Court. They also saw the truck strike a new fence on the edge of the field along Park Street. Coulter was arrested in the afternoon after a deputy received a report of a truck matching the description of the one on the field earlier in the day. Coulter admitted driving the truck during the incident, according to court documents.
The second man admitted he was in the truck when Coulter drove on the field and twice into the fence, Sheriff Bill Cumming said on Nov. 29. The man also told deputies he drove another vehicle on the field. The second driver faces felony malicious mischief and reckless driving charges, Cumming said.
"It appears alcohol was a factor in the behavior of these two," Cumming said.
Deep tracks were cut in the football field and a recently-seeded practice field. The school's new track was not damaged.
