Plenty of Swing'n and Spring'n at the Kids festival

posted 05/04/03
There were animals to pet, faces to paint, costumes to parade in at the 13th Children's Festival, sponsored by Island Rec, Saturday, May 3, 2003. This year's theme was "Swing 'n and Spring 'n."

Kids of all ages enjoyed arts and crafts including playing with clay, making glitter-glue masks and fish prints, and silk screening a t-shirt. Llamas, farm animals, and animals from Saddleback Ranch & feed brought in the farm and Christina Selsby's draft horse received plenty of attention in the petting zoo. Kids danced the hustle with Disco Bill, played carnival games, roped a mechanical calf, and jumped around in the carousel bouncer.

Quieter activities took place in the library's story time corner and inside the nylon zoo.
