Friday Harbor Sailing Club 16th Annual Lighted Boat Parade cruised through Friday Harbor Saturday, Dec. 10, 2007 with one of the largest flotillas of decorated boats. Twenty-eight boats signed up for the event. The Friday Harbor Fire Dept. fire boat Confidence led the parade. The Sheriff's boat Guardian brought up the rear. The San Juan Lions 16th Annual Santa Ship was piloted by San Juan County Commissioner Rich Peterson. The ship docked at Spring Street landing where the jolly old elf disembarked.

He made his way through the crowd to a waiting fire engine for a ride to the Island Convalescent Center to greet residents. Bags filled with fresh fruit were handed out. Then it was on to the middle school where gift bags donated by the island service groups were handed out to children.
