The Community Arts Theatre Society raised $36,000 through its live auction at the 17th Annual Festival of Trees Dec. 3, 2005 in San Juan Community Theatre. A sell-out crowd bid on 48 items donated by artists, businesses and supporters of the theatre. Dozens of items were bid on in the silent auction in the Gubelman theatre. The figures weren't available yet for the silent auction.

Festival-goers were treated to a production directed and written by Ted Soares. Choreography was by Naoni Zervas, Bill Ament and Jill Urbach. The master of ceremonies was Doug Bison.PHOTOS OF SHOW

Brad and Anita Welch were honored at the 17th Annual Festival of Trees for their work at the theatre.

Chance Earle received a "Queen of Tickets" ornament as a thank-you from organizers Janet Ludwig and Marcy Hahn.

This bench by Joe Ramona was purchased for $1100.

Roche Harbor chef Bill Shaw (pictured) and Ann Nelson provided appetizers.

A variety of trees, swags and wreaths were for sale.

Silent auction items included a metal flower sculpture by Kevin Roth.

San Juan Community Theatre Executive Director Merritt Olsen helped the auctioneer.

A tree made by Friday Harbor Elementary School children brought in $450 for the theatre.

Doug Bison emceed the CATS fundraiser.

Casey Lehman helped showcase items.

Farhad Ghatan helped bring three reindeer by Smithy Smith onstage.

At Ghatan's suggestions, bidders bid $50 and the reindeer were donated to the convalescent center. Fifteen people bid bringing in $750 for the trio.
