Dave Eden led the Friday Harbor Community Marching Band in the annual Fourth of July parade in Friday Harbor.

The theme -- Local Heroes -- was exemplified by Grand Marshal Jimmy Jones.

Orca Conservancy won the overall Grand Prize in the parade for their pod of whales.

Friday Harbor All-Stars took first place in the Kids category.

The National Park Service received special recognition award for their entry which included music and dancing.

San Juan Yacht Club received special recognition (pictured above) as did Foxglove Preschool (pictured below).

Grace Nieland of San Juan Island took in the sights.

Dorothy's Adult Home received special recognition for its humorous entry featuring the "secret service" and paparrazi.

The Animal Protection Society of the San Juans entry included pets and animals ready for adoption.
