Hundreds of islanders and visitors gathered on the grounds of San Juan Historical Museum for the annual Pig War Picnic after the parade. Music was provided by the One More Time Band, Sugar on the Floor, and Hunk of Funk.

Long-time islanders, Juanita Rouleau and Charlie Nash each received the Island Friend award.

Games included a watermelon eating contest.

Wild Rose Quilters of San Juan Island sold raffle tickets for a quilt. Proceeds will go to breast cancer research. The winning ticket will be drawn Nov. 24, 2001. Call Sarah at 360.378.3565 to purchase tickets.

San Juan Islander Fred Yocker and his youngest daughter enjoyed the picnic.

Cakes supplied by volunteers were won in an old-fashioned cakewalk.

Scott Bell provided running commentary while the catholic priest took a soaking in the dunk tank.
