Roche Harbor elects "Mayor"

Photos by Matt Pranger

These rowdy Canadians won for best decorated boat at Roche Harbor on Independence Day.

Dave Krows of Kenmore was elected Mayor of Roche Harbor July 4, 2005. He narrowly defeated 2-year-old Dylan Hoch. The youngster ran a campaign complete with hats and professionally printed brochures. He raised $3,800 for Children's Hospital.

The Mayor's only duty is to cruise the marina and review the decorated boats on the Fourth of July. A flotilla from Canada, once again, stood out. Their choreographed skit, eye-catching costumes and hearty rendition of "Oh, Canada" impressed the mayor.
