Three generations of a pioneer San Juan Island family (pictured at right) earned medals in the 26th Annual Island Loop Run Saturday, August 16, 2003. Pat Madden, 74, was the oldest competitor and also finished first in the Women over 70 category. Her daughter Loree Cunningham, 43, was second in the Women 40-44 category. Her daughter Kelsey, 12, won the Girls 10 -14 category. Her brother, Justin, 9, took first in the Boys 10 and Under category.

Matt Franck of Bellevue won the race which finishes at the San Juan County Fair with a time of 29:29. This was his fourth win in four tries. Glen Morgan of Newcastle came in second at 29:52. Keefer Whan of Mount Vernon finished third. Morgan and Whan camped on Turn Island Friday night and rowed in for the race.

Jane Hutchinson of San Juan Island was the first woman across the finish line with a time of 39:44. Lucas Franco was the first local man across with a time of 33:10. A complete list of the results are posted below the photos.
