What is San Juan Islander? San Juan Islander is the daily news source for San Juan County. It is owned and operated by Sharon Kivisto and Matt Pranger who live on San Juan Island. Why was it started? Sharon and Matt felt there was a need for a daily news source in the islands. They both worked for weekly papers before creating San Juan Islander in December 1999. What are Orcas Islander and Lopez Island News? Both are part of San Juan Islander. The two new pages were added to make it easier for readers to find the Orcas and Lopez news. San Juan Islander's home page contains links to everything that appears on Orcas Island and Lopez Island News. How often is San Juan Islander updated? The site is updated every night around 11:30 p.m. Breaking news is posted ASAP. How do I get something posted on San Juan Islander?
