Bucks excel at Big White

posted 05/19/04
Joshua Buck, 12, and Tanner Buck, 10, both passed the "Hot Shots" level at the Big White Ski Resort Ski School in Kelona, British Columbia this winter, the highest level achievable at the school for their age group.

This requires expert ability in all types of ski terrain and conditions. As a result of their achievement, the Friday Harbor skiiers qualify to be candidates for the Canadian Junior Olympics team. This was Tanner's first year for passing the Hot Shots level and Joshua’s second. Joshua qualifies to move up to the "Teen Extreme" level at Big White next year.

Their father, Steve Buck said, "Unfortunately, on the second run of her first day, a fellow student ran into Faith Buck, fracturing her leg and putting her out for the season. She's all better now, though. "
