President and CEO of Islanders Bank Dick Kneipp' is retiring today. He started working on creating the bank in December 1980. The first stock was sold the first week of July 1981.

A retirement party was held last week, the Yacht Club was filled with employees from all three island branches of the bank, family and friends. Kneipp endured good-hearted ribbing from Wally Gudgell, who hired him; Carrie Brooks, who worked with him for 20 years; his sister-in-law, who knew him since grade school and was ready to share; Dave Moorhouse; and Patsy Scribner, who worked with him for 25 years.

Gina Sandwith regaled the crowd at the party with Kneipp's history at the bank as told with the aid of $25 worth of chocolate. Shanar and Brenna provide assistance.

Kneipp's family and friends enjoy the friendly ribbing he received.
