Firefighters thanked for outstanding service
San Juan County Fire District No. 3 Press Release

On Saturday, December 15, 2001, the San Juan Island Fire Department held
their seventeenth annual awards banquet honoring the outstanding
firefighters of the past year.
Seventy-five firefighters and their guests joined together to honor a firefighter from the fire stations in the district. The following volunteers were honored:
- Station 31, Robin Dyer
- Station 33 Don McLaskey
- Station 34, Cathy Cunniff
- Station 35, Kathy Rouleau
- Station 36, Shaun Armstrong
- Station 37 Chris Baireuther.
Kathy Rouleau was also selected as Rookie of the Year, while Robert Demar was named District Firefighter of the Year. Battalion Chief Francis Smith was selected as Officer of the Year and Photographer/Historian Ron Garner was named Support Person of the Year.
Congratulations to all the volunteer firefighters of the department for providing outstanding service to the community.
