Fire consumes storage shed at Argyle and Mullis

 Several islanders reported a fully-involved structure fire on Port of Friday Harbor property at Argyle and Mullis roads about 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7. Firefighters from the Town of Friday Harbor and San Juan Fire District No. 3 quickly extinguished the blaze that razed the storage shed.

"It was pretty much through the roof when we got here," said District No. 3 Chief Bill McLaughlin.

County Fire Marshal Rick Galer is investigating the fire which destroyed the shed, oil boom stored there by Islands Oil Spill Association and port equipment, including fire extinguishers.
