Blaze guts Pear Point home on San Juan Island
Volunteer firefighters from San Juan County District No. 3 and Town of Friday Harbor fire departments fought a house fire Saturday, April 29. The fire on Pear Point Road on San Juan Island destroyed the three-bedroom home.

Fire roared through a three-bedroom house at 265 Pear Point Road Saturday afternoon. Two pet lizards apparently died in the fire, but the family's pigmy goats, chickens and ducks were rescued.
Firefighters from the Town of Friday Harbor and San Juan Fire District No. 3 battled the fire for more than two hours.
One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion.
