Friday Harbor Postmaster Dan Fleming had an idea he would be the "winner" of the Soroptimists first annual "Kiss a Pig for a Cure" contest. "I had help from my friends," he joked Wednesday evening.

The local chapter of Soroptimists raised $1,700 for Relay For Life by collecting (dollar) votes for the candidates - Fleming, Sheriff Bill Cumming, Undersheriff Jon Zerby, FH Elementary School Principal Gary Pflueger and FH Fire Chief Vern Long.

Elephant Revival performed at Island Rec's Music on the Lawn concert at San Juan Island Historical Museum.

The contestants waited for the announcement.
