7-210Well, it looks like someone has their hatchery program dialed in. Probably Steve Stout of the WDFW Marblemount facility, among others. We are seeing a bumper crop of 6-16lb. clipped Winter Chinook in the San Juans right now.

All these good fishing reports coming from Area 7 are enough to make the serious Blackmouther go crazy. As soon as the season opened, it was game on, and the fishing just hasn't slowed down. The winds and tides have been very fishable too.

Just drag any Silver Horde hardware four feet behind a Q-Cove Flasher at 2 mph on the bottom in a fishy spot. A bit simplified maybe, but not far off. Get out and enjoy it while it lasts.

This may make the upcoming Roche Derby very interesting. Those check boats could have their hands full.
