Northwest Free-thought Alliance offers environmental studies scholarship.
Pacific Northwest upper-division or graduate students majoring in environmental studies or environmental science are eligible for a $500 scholarship from the Northwest Free-thought Alliance. Students must also be active in a local free-thought organization.
The winner will be announced at the NFA regional conference on April 6 at Portland State University. The Dustin Finney Award scholarship is offered in memory of a Portland Community College student killed in 2011 by a drunken driver. Finney was majoring in environmental studies at PCC and was very active in the free-thought movement.
The deadline is March 30, and applications can be submitted online at the Northwest Free-thought Alliance website. For more information, and an application, go to nwfreethought.org.
