PRESS RELEASE: A $90,782 from the Washington State Department of Transportation/ Aviation Division, accepted by the Port of Friday Harbor June 28, 2012, provides a portion of the “local matching funds” required for this summer’s FAA-funded Taxiway Reconstruction Project.
Federal grant funds in the amount of $3,389,599 will be used for the project. The State Department of Transportation provided approximately $179,000 for previous projects at Friday Harbor Airport.
The state program helps airports in Washington maintain and improve their facilities by matching federal grants. During the first round of the 2011-2013 biennium grants, WSDOT awarded $941,024 to 25 airports for 30 different projects.

Alvin George Wilding was born June 8, 1927 to proud parents Harry and May Wilding in Seattle, WA. He spent his 85 years living in Seattle, Kirkland and Shaw Island. He moved to his eternal home in Heaven on April 22, 2013.
Al was preceded in passing by his wife of 52 years, Charlotte and his first wife, Deloris. He is survived by four
