Begging foxes are a direct consequence of the rabbits' extermination and were never seen before that happened. It's quite possible that other rodents were also exterminated in the process.
It seems I remember reading that the ranger claimed to be seeing more eagles at American Camp now, but that hasn't been my experience. I used to see them on the ground in the fields, along with rabbits and foxes.
Now we have grass and a few scrawny, pathetic, begging foxes.
We, as humans, are so short sighted.
