Volunteers weighed in a record number of fish, 104, on the first day of the 10th Annual Roche Harbor Salmon Classic Invitational Fishing Derby Friday, February 8, 2013. The previous record was 72 set in 2008.
As the fishing begins on the second and final day of fishing, Saturday, February 9, Uncle Pete Nelsen of Shaw Island is leading with a 16.7 lb. beauty. Carter Whalen of Friday Harbor holds second with his 16.4 lber. and Michael Gladstein of Mercer Island is third with 14.5. f >ourth is Randy Carr of Bellingham with a 13.12 lb. and fifth is Chuck Payne of Friday Harbor with a 13.10 lb. fish.
Best Total Boat Weight at 46.3 lbs. is held by Derek Floyd’s Team of Camano Island.
