The three-day Friday Harbor Film Festival will include award-winning documentaries, special events, a film makers workshop, a children's cinema program and an art walk.
The organizers, who are all volunteers, believe in the importance of conveying timely and relevant issues to the community by means of film. More volunteers are sought to help in a variety of roles.
Festival organizers hope to attract many more visitors to the island in the shoulder season as well as many interested residents.
The next volunteer meeting and gathering is at 5 p.m. Thursday June 27 in the festival's new office next to the Toy Box in the old Kings Video Store on the corner of First and West Street. Kings Market donated the use of the space.
Please confirm if you plan to attend by sending an email to [email protected].
Especially needed are responsible individuals to take a leadership role for specific tasks and events during the FHFF. The most important is another volunteer coordinator. There is one but it is a job for at least two individuals working together.
The volunteer schedule is being created with two to four hour segments of time during the festival at each venue. Help is needed to host and monitor each theater, run the concessions, hand out Q cards and seat film goers.
If you cannot attend the meeting but you want to be involved please provide detailed information regarding your skills and preferences, via an email or go to volunteers at our web site www.fhff.org ,
