This year's first quarter numbers for real estate transactions in the San Juan Islands are mixed.
While most of the region and nation are experiencing a solid increase in sales, our residential sales started slower than last year's. Vacant land sales have been non-existent so far, but there are some parcels pending.
Historically, we've lagged behind the Greater Puget Sound region's trends by 6-8 months. If this continues to be the case, we can look forward to a fairly busy summer and fall. For homes, condos and manufactured homes, we do not have the inventory we had for the same time period during the past few years, as the chart below shows:
