San Juan County Community Development and Planning
As part of its information-gathering process on issues involved in the controversial state-mandated update to the county's Critical Areas Ordinance (CAO,) some San Juan County Council members will tour three wetlands May 7. The tour is a chance for council members to see issues on the ground which they have been wrestling with through many meetings, hearings and piles of paperwork.
The Council begins the day at 8:30 a.m. in the legislative hearing room to review the Planning Commissions draft of the wetlands section of the CAO.
The public is welcome to join the tour which begins after a short lunch break. Gather at 12:15 p.m. at 55 Second Street in Friday Harbor. Directions and other information will be provided at that time. The tour is expected to last until approximately 5 p.m.
Parking at some of the locations is limited. Ride sharing is encouraged. Please show respect for the properties and the landowners who are offering access.
