On behalf of citizens of San Juan County, County Council Chair Rick Hughes put some of the county’s finest produce on the line against the pride of Eagle County, Colorado (population 51,874), in a winner-take-all wager on the outcome of Sunday’s Super Bowl.

With the Seahawks crushing defeat of the Broncos, the Eagle County Commissioners will be shipping local buffalo jerky, grass fed beef, and beverages from the Bonfire Brewing Company to Friday Harbor.

San Juan County's bet was Jones Family Farms Salmon from Lopez Island, Orcas Island’s Kathryn Taylor Chocolates and Westcott Bay Hard Cider from San Juan Island.

Chairman Hughes is a former resident of Eagle County.
