LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Letter from soldier in IraqEditor's Note: this letter was sent to Minnie Knych of San Juan Island. CW4 Ray Hursh is one of the service men the American Legion Auxiliary sends monthly packages to.
posted 11/11/2007 It's going to take a long time to get the Generations to understand what freedom is all about, and it will come at a cost, that can't be measured in money. The will of the people when they start caring and wanting life to be better that is when the change occurs. When the people of Iraq start to change their way of thinking and living and having that show up front in the day to day lives, that translates into change in every community, once you change one community then you change a provinces, and then comes the rest of the country. Every American can be proud of what each service member has done for this land where time began, and the foundation of every religion in the world.. If every American believes that we Americans do in fact trust in God as our Money says, then we owe it to the country and people of Iraq to put our trust in God and make sure they have a chance at a better Life as our ancestors long ago took a chance and gave each one of us that chance at the freedoms we all enjoy today... think where we as Americans would be today If not for the freedoms enjoyed from just a few standing up to the big country and saying we want a chance at more freedoms than what are currently enjoyed and that this small country has a chance at one day being called a great nation. "Truly GOD has blessed AMERICA" and we as Americans should never forget that no matter where we life or what we do, this War is having an impact on each and every house hold in American and each American should do there part. Each persons part is just a small portion but all together they can come together and have a Great impact. I love America, and Am Proud to be from the Greatest country in the world. I am also immensely proud of All of our military services. Each one is making a difference to the Iraqi people... one day at a time.
