Libbey Howard and Nige Oswald engaged

Mary and Larry Sliger and Verne Howard are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Libbey Howard, to Nige Oswald. Libbey is a 1997 graduate of Friday Harbor High School, a graduate of the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia and is currently studying for her MBA at the University of San Francisco. Nige graduated from Plymouth University and is a co-founder and co-owner of IO Integration in San Francisco. Wedding plans are pending. The couple will reside in San Francisco after the wedding and have plans to move to Friday Harbor after Libbey receives her MBA.


Lindsay/Hunkins Wedding Announcement

Kathryn and John Lindsay of Friday Harbor announce the marriage of their daughter, Johanna, to Leah Hunkins. Leah's mother, Doreen Hunkins of Bellevue, father, Francis Hunkins, and step-mother, Patricia Hammill both of Kenmore, participated in the celebration along with other friends and family.

The couple was married on Saturday, September 25th, at Wood Duck Ponds on San Juan Island where they also held their reception. The wedding was performed by Johanna's uncle, Pastor Tor Berg of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pullman, Washington. Johanna's father, who is the pastor of the Lutheran Church in the San Juans, said that he was glad his brother-in-law was performing the ceremony so that he could enjoy the role of being the "father of one of the brides."

Johanna works for Washington/Alaska Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. Leah works for Starbucks Coffee Company. Their home is in Seattle, Washington.


50th Wedding Anniversary

Allen and Lucretia Larsen were married December 11, 1953 in Friday Harbor, Washington. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children at Anthony's Resturant in Bellingham, and plan a large family reunion in the summer.

Allen and Lucretia are retired and donate much of the time to the Assumtion Catholic Church in Bellingham, and to spending time with their 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Their children are Jim and Gary Larsen of Bellingham, Mike Larsen of Everett, Rick Larsen of San Diego, California and Debbie Hammer of Snohomish. They attribute their successful marriage to being best friends and a mutual love of God and family.

Ashley Howard and Andrew Menter

Larry and Mary Sliger and Verne Howard are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Ashley Howard to Andrew Menter. Ashley is a 1994 graduate of Friday Harbor High School, a 1998 graduate of Duke University, and will graduate with her MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in May. Andrew is a graduate of Brown University and received his post-graduate degrees from the University of Houston. The couple plan to be married on San Juan Island in late summer of 2005. They hope to make their home on the west coast.

Alisa Felthous and Scott Schoultz

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Ahrenius have the pleasure of announcing the engagement of their daughter, Alisa Felthous, to Scott Schoultz, son of Dr. and Mrs. Nil Schoultz of Hudson, Florida.

Alisa, a graduate of University of Washington, is an Operations Manager at PGI, Inc. in Denver, Colorado. Scott is a graduate student at Colorado State University, studying Occupational Therapy. Alisa is also the daughter of Dean Felthous of Snohomish, Washington. Their wedding is scheduled for September 5, 2004 in Colorado.
