Barbara Ann MillsOctober 29, 1952 - May 24, 2008
Barbara Ann Mills, 55, of Anacortes, Washington passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, with her daughter and sister by her side. Barbara was born October 29, 1952 in Bellingham, Washington the daughter of Robert L. and Marylee (Lafond) Owings. She graduated from Anacortes High School in 1971 and married Tim Mills of Oak Harbor in 1972. Their daughter, Miki was born the following year. Barbara lived and worked in Friday Harbor, Washington for years and raised her daughter there. She touched many lives in her studies with fellow Jehovah's Witness' in Friday Harbor as well as in Anacortes. Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Owings in 1987 and her brother Jeff Owings in 1991. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Miki and David Schach of Granite Falls, WA; mother Marylee Owings of Anacortes, WA; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Dana George of Anacortes, WA; nephews, Ryan, Corey and fiancé Jil, Jeremy George, all of Anacortes and Jared Owings of Sedro-Woolley. Barabra is also survived by her very dear friends, Vickie Holte and Linda Little. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, 2511 29th Street in Anacortes. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Barbara's memory to the Harborview Neurosciences Teaching and Research Stroke Fund by check, payable to the:
