Eugene Stevens HahnelAugust 14, 1913 – February 1, 2008 Eugene Stevens Hahnel died February 1, 2008 at Island Hospital in Anacortes. He is survived by his two children, Robin Hahnel and Ann Meidinger-Hahnel, and his six grandchildren, Jesse Hahnel, Ilana Hahnel, Sara Hahnel, Tanya Hahnel, Dylan Feldpausch, and Aidan Sheeran-Hahnel Gene retired to San Juan Island from St. Louis Missouri in 1978 with his wife, Jean Campbell Hahnel, who died on San Juan Island in 1982. He lived and gardened on Kanaka Bay Road until moving to Chandler Square Retirement Community in Anacortes three years ago. Gene willed his body to the University of Washington Medical School and it was his wish not to have a memorial service. |
