Born and raised in the Westchester area of Los Angeles, a graduate of Westchester High School (1972) and San Diego State University (1978), Gwen worked as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines from 1979 until 2005. Her hobbies were traveling and gardening. An avid athlete, she also was a competitive swimmer and runner.

She was loved and will be missed by her husband Tom; parents Robert Jones and Betty Jones (a long time resident of San Juan Island); step-mother Agnes Jones; her brothers Kevin (who lived and worked on San Juan Island in the early 70s), Keith and sister Megan( who has lived on San Juan for more than 30 years and was the owner of Megan's Home and Animal Care) as well as her step-sisters Kasa and Kris and her grandchildren Alexandra and Jackson.

Both her family and an extensive worldwide network of dear friends and associates that she touched throughout her life, will remember her as a strong independent woman who bravely fought a long hard battle against lung cancer with a bright inspiring outlook.

They will both mourn her untimely passing and celebrate her life with a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. this Sunday, November 18 at the San Juan Island Grange Hall in Friday Harbor. It was Gwen's wish that In lieu of flowers donations be sent to:
