John Paul Sontra IIMay 7, 1945 - September 1, 2008 U.S. Veteran - John Paul Sontra II, 63, passed away on September 1, 2008. John loved the islands of the northwest from his childhood so much that he moved up here 14 years ago. He lived on Orcas for 10 years before buying a house in Anacortes. While on Orcas he ran his CPA business with his heart, as most of his clients became also known as his friends. John was a big kid at heart. The many things he enjoyed were playing with his grandchildren, this included behaving like them, his motorcycle, and his recent trip to Disneyland where each ride ended in "Can we do that again?" In his off time, he could be found gardening and landscaping in his yard or driving off into the northwest countryside. A gadget junkie, he also loved new technology and was always trying to convert family and friends into loving his most recent find. John is survived by his daughter Susan Rene? Sontra, her husband, Andrew Lynch, and their children Madeline and Elizabeth Lynch; his other daughter, Paula Sontra and her children, Kendra, Ethan, and Savanna Tuttle; his nephew Earl Sontra and niece Marion Rathbone. Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, WA and the San Juan Islands.
