Michael W. Guinan Ph.D.November 25, 1934 - March 8, 2007 Michael W. Guinan was born November 25, 1934, in Seattle, Washington. He graduated from Point Loma High School in San Diego, California and went on a Ph.D. from UC Berkley. He married Lia Ratnicks on January 18, 1957. Michael spent his working career as a nuclear physicist for Lawrence Radiation Lab in Livermore, California and the University of California. When Mike retired, he and Lia moved to Lopez Island, Washington, where they enjoyed a beautiful view of the San Juan Islands. Island. On Thursday, March 8, 2007, Mike died at a Portland area hospital when he was 72 years of age. It was his wish to be cremated and to have his ashes interred next to his wife on Lopez. He is survived by his daughter-in-law Pam Papone of Davis, California; sisters, Shari Aus of Stayton, Oregon, Jean Branum of Bradenton, Florida; brothers, David Branum of Oroville, California; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Lia and two sons, Michael Jon Guinan and Christopher David Guinan. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Alternative Burial & Cremation of Oregon, in Sherwood, Oregon. |
