Two businesses join forces for winter

Friday Harbor Souvenir Company and Boardwalk Bookstore have combined forces for the winter months. Friday Harbor Souvenir Company, owned by Sally Browne, will be moving her current merchandise to Boardwalk Bookstore, located at 9 Spring Street, on October 1 and returning to 135 Spring Street in the spring. Open seven days a week, you can shop for your favorite titles in books AND find all your souvenir and gift needs at Boardwalk Bookstore.

The winter combination of the retail stores will allow both businesses to remain open seven days a week during the winter season.

"This is an exciting opportunity for two Friday Harbor businesses, that experience a decrease of sales in the winter, to operate in a more efficient manner. It will also afford customers a wider choice of merchandise in a central location. We’ll also be expanding our services to include gift baskets for that special occasion. Just give us a call and we’ll put together the perfect gift and ship it if you like. Baskets can be done for birthdays, wedding parties or any special occasion," Browne said.

Bettye Hendrickson, owner of Boardwalk Bookstore, said “our goal is to continue to provide customers with the best books on the market, as well as friendly and personal service and to make our customers feel welcome. I’m excited about this endeavor and look forward to introducing this new concept to our customers.”

Boardwalk Bookstore, the oldest bookstore in Friday Harbor, is located at 9 Spring Street, corner of Front and Spring Streets inside the old arcade mall. Come in and browse.
