Ryan drills homer, Wolverine baseball team wins 4th

Brady Ryan slapped a two-run homer as Friday Harbor crunched Concrete 8-3 Tuesday, April 1.

"He hit the longest bunt ever seen in Friday Harbor history," said Friday Harbor coach Rich Warin, who had given Ryan a bunt sign with two strikes in the sixth inning.

Friday Harbor improves to 3-0 in Northwest A League play and 4-0 overall.

Concrete went up 2-0 on homer that Friday Harbor senior Damon Woodward nearly robbed by climbing the outfield wall. "He landed on top of the wall. It was a great effort," Warin said.

The Wolverines knotted the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the second off Trefor Bacon's base hit. Fletcher Vynne reached base on balls before Danny Cumming doubled.

Ryan singled and Timmy Aylward reached base on balls. Woodward loaded the bases with a single. Andrew Westphalen cracked a three-run double Cumming drove him in with a single.

Peter Shanks doubled in the sixth and scored on Ryan's homer.

Elliot Thomsen earned the victory in relief. Adam White threw the first four innings.

thumps Snohomish County Christian twice

Danny Cumming upped his RBI total to 12 in four games as Friday Harbor blasted Snohomish County Christian 8-1 in five innings and 9-1 in four innings Saturday, March 29, 2003.

Andrew Westphalen doubled in each game for the Wolverines and Cumming also smacked a two-bagger.

Friday Harbor upped its record to 4-0 with the non-league victories.

Friday Harbor baseball team edges Coupeville in 7th inning

Friday Harbor's baseball team scored four runs in the seventh inning to beat Coupeville 7-5 Friday, March 28, 2003.

The Northwest A League teams were tied 3-3 before the Wolverines crossed the plate four times in the final frame. Friday Harbor held the host Wolves to 2 runs in the bottom of the inning.

Danny Cumming rapped a double for the Wolverines.

Adam White earned the win for the Wolverines, who improve to 2-0 in league.
