Danny Cumming's clutch steal and free throw pushed Friday Harbor past host Seattle Lutheran 41-40 Saturday, Jan. 4.

Friday Harbor senior Danny Johnson knotted the non-league game at 40-40 on a 15-foot jumper with nine seconds to go. Danny Cumming, a junior, then stole an inbounds pass. After Friday Harbor called timeout, the Saints fouled the Wolverine ball handler. On the next inbound play, a Saint fouled Cumming as he went up for the final shot at the buzzer.

Cumming needed only the first free-throw attempt to secure the win.

Nathan Smith led the Wolverines with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Matt Cowell and Johnson contributed 7 points apiece, Sean Anderson 4, Cumming 3, Nik Grah 2 and Brady Ryan 2.

"We had a different lineup in the end and they did the job for us," Friday Harbor coach Rod Turnbull said.
