The Wolverines limited the Coupeville's leading scorer, Brad Sherman, to 3 points in the third period and held the Wolves' second-best scorer, ???Fakkema, scoreless in the second half. "That was huge," Turnbull said. The Wolverines sank 10 of 12 free-throw attempts, or 83 percent, in the fourth quarter. Nathan Smith dumped in 21 points for the Wolverines and Sean Anderson chipped in 13. Other Friday Harbor scorers were: Tyler Roberts 6, Nik Grah 4, Danny Herbert 4 and Brady Ryan 2. In addition to the quick start against the host Wolverines, the Vikings won by doing "the little things," said Orcas coach Gregg Sasan. Jordan Gage scored 10 points in the first quarter and his brother Josh chipped in 7 as the Vikings rolled to a 28-9 first period lead. Josh Gage led the Vikings with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Jordan Gage scored 23 points and made 6 assists. Arlen Plaister chipped in 16 points, David Kimple 7, James Talbot 4 and Zac Parkerson 3. The Vikings sank 14 of 20 free-throw attempts, or 70 percent. That was the Vikings’ best performance at the line this season, Sasan noted. Friday Harbor’s Damon Woodward drilled four three-pointers for a career-high 16 points. Danny Johnson contributed 12 and Nathan Smith 11. Travis Coulter and Tyler Roberts each scored 6. Sean Anderson had 4, Matt Cowell 2 and Danny Cumming 2. Orcas improves to 3-3 conference play.
